Ok, with it being 2010 by today's standards of brick sized phones that does everything under the sun this phone doesn't hold a candle to them. But and this is a big BUT, if you looking for a phone that, makes calls, send texts, can take photos, not pocket dial, is not pron to freezing up and has a great battery life. In other words if your looking for a simple phone that "just works" and doesn't take up a lot of space in your pocket then it just doesn't get any better then a Motorola RAZR. With all of that said, and if you want one please keep in mind that your going to be buying tech that is at least 3 years old (marking stopped in July of 07) , most likely older. Compared to phones of today it's going to have a slower response time and the pictures aren't going to be what you have been use to. This is my third and using it is like hanging out with an old friend, I often wish that they would bring it back so I wouldn't have to buy used ones online.Read full review
This is a hard phone to beat for the price (under $40.00 refurbished). The Razr is still a great cell phone when what you need to do is make voice calls. It's hard to beat for size and weight. While this is not anyway near a cutting edge product anymore, it still offers very good voice quality, and handsfree dialing. I was still using my original Razr V3c when I lost it in an airport in December 2010. Except for 2 battery replacements, my Razr V3c lasted almost 5 years, with no trouble or repairs. While I plan to get a 4G smartphone this year, I still wanted a Razr for backup, and situations where lugging around a 4.3" Android phone wasn't convenient. For a small phone, the Razr still feels expensive and solid. For literally a few dollars more than a V3c, the V3m adds more storage, MP3/WMA music playback and the ability to add a 2GB transflash/MicroSD card.Read full review
I bought this phone on eBay because my daughter has already used her twice yearly insurance replacements, and yet again the phone stopped working. I like the keypad, and the memory space / features. The design is slim and compact which is great. The problems we've been having have been within the phone itself. The first two had factory software problems, and this last one, bought here on eBay worked fine for a couple of months. Then it also started getting blank screens. According to Verizon it was originally activated 2 years ago, so I'd say it lasted a while. We just received our new Razor today from Verizon (3rd since 8-07) so hopefully it will last more than a few months. I have known friends with this phone and it has lasted them over 2 years. I'd say it's luck of the draw on the sotfware, but the phone itself has never failed us.Read full review
- Why you bought it I bought my V3m cell phone because my Blackberry 8530 was stolen. Needed a replacement quick, I had a Razr before when they first came out. I could not find a used 8530 for the right price, so I went with the RAZR V3m as a temp soulution to my problem. - What you like most about it The price is what I like the most about it. Next it was blue tooth capable which I needed for work when I'm driving in Ca. must have blue tooth wireless setup. - What you dislike about it Don't get me wrong for it's time RAZR V3m was top of the line phone. But, with no wireless connection, no fast blackberry push email, no address and email info in address book, all the different applications that my blackberry has, etc. There is really nothing like the new phones. - Whether or not you would buy the product again If I just wanted basic phone, basic email, no internet, no wireless connection, I would purchase. But, the new phones have so much more to offer. I now have a blackberry 8530 again. However there are still people out there who just want a basic phone. If your one of those people, Yes, I recommend the RAZR V3m phone it will serve you well.Read full review
I was in the market for a replacement for my BlackBerry Tour. Not exactly eager to part with it but I had just been laid off from one of my jobs, so the Tour and its mandatory data plan needed to go. I am ineligible for an upgrade, so I knew I would need to look for something affordable and turned to eBay. I used to use a Verizon Motorola Razr V3m; thus far, it has been the only other cell phone I have owned that was satisfied with. Surprisingly, there were many V3m Razrs available... I found this NIB Razr V3m for Verizon Wireless. Outside of a few annoying firmware locks that the usual hacks do not seem to work on, this phone is excellent. The call quality is shockingly clear, something I have not had the pleasure of even on my BlackBerry Tour. Given that all I need the phone for is calls, texting, and some visual appeal, this phone is perfect for my needs. It is especially nice that I don't know anyone who uses one anymore. Pro: call quality, refined menu system from original V3m I owned 3 years ago, no Verizon branding except within the firmware. Con: the usual hacks and seem edits appear ineffective; at this time I will have to turn to VZW for different ringtones as this Razr will not accept Phonezoo ringers or others of differing formats off of my PC. All in all, a solid recommendation. P.S. - Firmware seems to be NCR_01.1A.00R. Google shows it as Alltel firmware though this is not the case with mine. I read this from under the battery cover; it is possible that the firmware has been flashed to Verizon and that the number under the battery is incorrect.Read full review
