It has a long battery life. It has both a native browser and the opera browser. It can use wifi, so you don't use your minutes. It doesn't bump you off the internet arbitrarily like tracfone's Samsung 390g did. It does take a while to attach to wifi after you unlock the screen so pay attention to the wifi icon. If you open your browser before it connects you can use minutes. It has an incredibly long battery life. The downsides are that the nimbuzz app is buggy and won't connect to anything but google talk. Nimbuzz on other phones, does other protocols like aol, yahoo, facebook, myspace and xmpp.. The email program doesn't appear to work, though I was able to use pico wireless for email, and can use webmail on the browsers. There is also no twitter app though I can use it through the browsers. It is difficult to fine j2me apps that work on it. However it is very economically priced. Less the 20 for a new one vs how much for an android phone? Triple the minutes is a very good deal and it is default on this phone. If you are frugal and undemanding this is a great deal.Read full review

I bought 3 for the family for Christmas. Hubby hasn't played with his yet. Me and my teen son like taking pictures, and it's easy to upload them to the computer. There is no flash though, so you can't take good pictures in dim light or at night. I get a lot of blurry ones because I shake and sometimes the picture won't take when I press the button. I'l practice. I am still figuring out the apps as well as the internet. It was ok getting on Facebook, but I had trouble finding a store recently. I tried to look it up with a partial address but it couldn't find it. I don't know if the problem was pilot error, my location or the phone itself, so I'll take it to Best Buy's geek squad for help. I like the ringtones. There are a lot of choices. My toddler likes dancing to the music ones. I like the ability to set alarms and assign different rings to them. That almost makes up for not being able to type in a message for myself about the alarm. I don't know if there's a way to combine the note section with the alarm. I have a lot of playing to do yet.Read full review

I am a SafeLink customer & was trying to find a smartphone to replace the phone that came with my account. After researching phones on ebay, I found this one & am hoping, from what I've read from other customers, that this phone will be something that I can hook up to my SafeLink account at the beginning of next month once my airtime has been reset. Also, I purchased this phone based upon the Wifi capability, and I am happy to report that I was able to hook up to Wifi immediately after opening the box & before I have even activated the phone service. Of course the speed depends on the Wifi service as well, but the phone -- all be it basic but still quite functional -- operates very fast on the Wifi service that I am using, so I am very pleased with that alone at this point. If you are a Tracfone or SafeLink customer or are just (again) looking for a smartphone that will respond quickly to Wifi, for the price, I definitely recommend this phone. Again, I haven't used it for phone calls or even texting yet, but I have explored the other features as well as examined both the phone & texting options, and the keypad is adequate enough compared to much more expensive phones (I do miss one I had last year that also had the voice input feature for texting, but just to have a smartphone that I can type the letters into the phone with rather than a basic phone that requires me to hit each number at a time as many times as it takes to enter each letter is a breeze compared to what I've been going through until purchasing this phone). This phone is also not Bluetooth compatible, but there is a hole for ear buds & headphones, which I already had & was able to use with the person on the other end of the call hearing me clearly with my other phone, so I have no doubt that this phone will work with just as well if not better based upon what I've learned from playing around with it so far. I'm also not sure about the Triple minute offer with SafeLink, but I do know that I've been able to add them to my account already, so that is probably based more on each person's individual service & whether they again plan to use Tracfone or already have SafeLink (or plan to, which I again already do have on my other phone & will transfer the number to this phone with at the beginning of next month). Some people might not like this feature, but you can turn it off anyway: this phone (when powered up 1st time) has voice feedback, and that has been helpful for me as I have been learning this phone & setting/customizing it for my use -- I am both an audible & visual learner. :-) Oh, and the seller sent it "lighting fast." I ordered it on Saturday & received it today (Monday). I didn't expect to receive it for at least another day or two considering the "business days" involved & that there was a Sunday in between. Last point: screen size is adequate enough (I do wear reading glasses myself, but for someone whose eyesight is good, this is probably even easier), and it is very responsive to the touch. I hope this review is helpful. :-) I read a few myself before purchasing this phone, which was how I learned that I could activate it on my SafeLink account -- & am thankful to especially one person who gave specific tips on how to get it done effectively & quickly (transfer number, etc.), so I am confident that it will be no problem, and either way, the rates with the Triple minutes for a paying customer alone are competitive.Read full review

I had to get a new tracfone because they are doing away with 2G service so I chose this one. This is not an android phone but it is a great introduction to it as the interface is very similar (touchscreen, having to swipe through the menus). For the price, the phone comes with a lot of neat features. It is not very big so you can easily carry it around in your pocket. It's not something I would use for the internet or to take pictures (the camera works but the resolution and flash are not very good) but for sending texts and making calls it does the job. The only issue I have with it is that the sound (i.e. the ringer and the speakerphone) aren't loud enough. But again, for the price this is a very good phone and something to get used to before upgrading to an android.

The touch screen does not let you carry the phone in any way that I can figure out without turning something on. I have had it actually make calls to someone somewhere that I have no idea who, or where. It is constantly saying screen off, which means that it was turned on. Also, the incoming call volume is so low that I didn't know that I was receiving any calls. The volume level is set all the way up for the overall volume, and I can not find anyway of increasing the incoming call volume. The phone is nice overall with the two above major exceptions. It has a good large screen, takes good pictures, and once I replaced the memory card I am able to move pictures back and forth to my computer. The card that came with it does not work. If only I was able to handle it without turning things off and on while trying to do something else. And, it would really be nice if I could carry it around safely.Read full review
